I named my new betta fish Tom, after the quarterback Tom Brady. He is a beautiful bright red betta, and was the big betta fish in the tank at the pet store I got him from. I am always amazed at how gentle Tom is around the female bettas in the tank, and it is amusing to watch them chase each other for hours some days. I want to give them the best life ever, and take great care to keep the aquarium water perfectly balanced at all times. I even put a pinch of aquarium salt in the water, and the magnesium is really good for their eyes, glands, and skin. Most people think that salt in fresh water tank is a no-no, but if you use Epsom salt, you are not using sodium like most people believe.
