LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - CBS has ordered a crime drama from "Homeland" team Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Alex Cary, as well as a comedy from David E. Kelly that will star Robin Williams.
"Anatomy of Violence," which will be written by "Homeland" vets Gordon, Gansa and Cary, will follow a criminal psychologist with an expertise in sociopaths who partners with a young female detective with whom he shares a conflicted past.
Teakwood Lane is producing the project along with 20th Century Fox Television.
"Crazy Ones," meanwhile, will be written and executive produced by David E. Kelley, with Robin Williams in the starring role. The single-camera, father/daughter workplace comedy is set in the world of advertising.
Dean Lorey, Bill D'Elia, John Montgomery, Mark Teitelbaum and Jason Winer are also executive producing, with Winer ("Arthur") directing.
The network has also ordered a pilot for the drama "Intelligence," which is centered at US Cyber Command, and focuses on a unit that has been created around one agent with a very special gift - a microchip that has been implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum.
Michael Seitzman ("Americana") is writing and executive producing, with David Semel ("American Horror Story: Asylum") directing and executive producing. Tripp Vinson ("Red Dawn," "The Number 23") also on board to executive produce the ABC Studios project.
Last week, CBS ordered the drama pilot "Second Sight," about a detective who is suddenly afflicted with an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations reflective of his subconscious from "Homeland" executive producer Michael Cuesta. The network's pilot orders also include a small-screen reboot of the "Beverly Hills" cops franchise, as well as a drama about the U.S. Surgeon General from "Lie to Me" creator Samuel Baum.
