Online gaming outlet 1UP have recently got themselves a hands-on with the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3, and unfortunately, their impressions are less than favourable. The website has reported many technical issues on the Wii U port, regarding frame rate, animation and sound, among other problems.
1UP writer Jeremy Parish had this to say after trying out the game:
Without question, it has a few issues. This version of ME3 seems a lot less visually stable than, say, the Xbox 360 version ? the frame rate is choppier, the animation seems rougher. The audio suffers, too; while the music and sound effects have come over fine, all the dialogue has a hollow, echoing quality to it. The GamePad?s analog sticks aren?t as comfortable as the 360?s, and the placement of the face buttons relative to the right stick made me continually miss the melee and reload buttons. My headshot ratio has dropped precipitously. It?s tragic.
While he admitted that there were some advantages, he stated that the Wii U edition is ?anything but the definitive version?.
Being a launch title set for release in just two days, we can assume that this is in fact the finished version of the game. This is a shame for any Mass Effect fans eagerly awaiting this version, and let?s hope it doesn?t spoil the entire experience.
We previously reported that Mass Effect 3 on Wii U will include all previous?DLC already on-disc, unique GamePad features and?an all-new, exclusive interactive comic.
We also had Bioware revealing some very interesting info regarding the next instalment, Mass Effect 4, and how it will ?explore new directions?.
